Abstract meets Henna
My inspiration comes from the traditional and intricate patterns of Henna art. Although, originally the body art patterns are in the colours of the green henna paste, I use the original colour as the background to enhance the patterns in the bright colours of India. I love the paisley patterns of India and they take center-stage in this art!
Henna was first applied as a means to cool down the body. A dot was applied to the palm of the hands, after becoming bored with the look of the single dot on the palm, the early users of henna began to add lines and other shapes. Eventually this elaboration became the beautiful designs we see today.
Beautiful and intricate patterns of Vines, lace, paisleys, flowers and mandala are the main elements of this pattern.
