My patience and gratitude series of art!
What does this single brush stroke series mean?
I started working with single brush strokes a few years ago, when the world had shut down and there was not much we could do about it. However in that silence I realised there is so much to gain, so much to achieve and so much we can still be grateful for.
My first painting in this style was a large artwork with colours inspired by the rainbow.
Envisioning the final piece I created each stroke patiently enjoying the process.
In this series of acrylics on canvas I again bring each artwork alive with single brush strokes. Each stroke embodies a different colour and also embraces my thoughts and emotions.
To emphasize the importance of “Patience & Gratitude” in my life, I quote the words of my favourite poet, Rumi.
What is patience?
To look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn!
